15th December: Both Barmana and Darlaghat cement plants have been closed till further orders and orders have been issued to all the employees not to come to work, due to which the employment of about 15,000-20,000 families in the state is at risk.
It is being heard that for the last several days, there was a stir in the Darlaghat plant, due to which the employees working in the plant were apprehensive of some major changes in the plant, but after the order to close the plant, everyone is in shock.On the other hand, the Plant Head of ACC Cement Factory, Barmana of Adani Group has also issued a notice and issued orders to stop all the activities of the plant till further orders.Due to the closure of these two factories, the employment of about 15,000-20,000 families of the state has come under threat.
About 3,800 truck operators are associated in ACC Cement Factory Barmana. In which 2,300 of District Bilaspur Truck Operator Transport Cooperative Sabha, 1,500 of Ex-Servicemen Sabha, if the plant is completely closed, then 3,800 operators, 3,800 drivers and about 1500 conductors will be unemployed.
Apart from this, around 700 tire puncture and mechanic workers are also dependent on these factories. The livelihood of the nearby dhabas will be affected, apart from this, the employment of 530 regular and 450 contract workers in the factory will also be lost. Also the cement crisis in the state may deepen due to the closure of cement factories. Cement is supplied to many wholesalers from here.
The supply has also been stopped due to the sudden closure of the plant. The orders taken have also been cancelled. It is being told that there are about 120 to 150 dealers in the state. They will have to buy cement from outside states. There is also a possibility of further increase in the price of cement due to the commencement of supply of cement from outside states.
